Why Did Melchizedek Bless Abraham?

We thank God again for giving us this day to share his word.

Brethren I would like to share why did Melchizedek bless Abraham.

Abraham got married to Sarah and they fear Almighty God.

God bless Abraham because he obeys his commandments to the extent he is going to use his only son as a sacrifice for Almighty God.

Tera gave birth to three sons, they are Abram, Nahor, and Haran.

Haran died after giving birth to Lot.

The two brothers departed and find a place for themselves.

Abraham took care of Lot after they have departed.

Lot and Abraham departed because their possession was so great that they could not dwell together.

Lot sat on the land of Sodom while Abraham sat at Mamre.

There was a war between the kings of the various city of which sodom is part.

The army for sodom was defeated so they took their items of which Lots possession was part.

The Enemies took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah.

There was one man who escaped from the war and came and report it to Abraham.

When Abraham heard that, his kinsman's possession had been taken, he took his trained men and went in pursuit as far as Dan.

When they are about to reach, he divided his men against them in the night.

Abraham and his trained men were able to defeat them and brought back all the goods, both the women and the people.

After they have returned, the king of Sodom went out to meet him.
Melchizedek who was the king of Salem went out with bread and wine for Abraham and his train men.

Melchizedek was a priest of the highest.

Melchizedek blessed him and said,
Blessed be Abraham by God most high, maker of heaven and earth.

And blessed be God most high, who has delivered your enemies into your hand.

Abraham gave him a tenth of everything.
