Why Did Moses Flee From Egypt To Midian?
The story of our forefathers started in the book of Genesis.
Brethren, I would like to share this topic with you.
Moses was born to a parent from Levi.
Moses' parents hid him for three months because the pharaoh's charged the midwives to kill a newly born male.
When his mother saw that, she could hide him no longer, she hid him in a basket and placed it around the bank of the river.
Moses' sister was hiding around to see what will happen to her junior brother.
The daughter of Moses came down to bathe at the river.
When she is about to swim, she saw the basket among the reeds and sent her maid to fetch it.
When she opened it she saw the child, the babe was crying.
Then his sister came and said to the pharaoh's daughter, shall I go and call you a nurse from the Hebrews women to nurse the child for you?
She went and call his mother to nurse the child for Pharaoh's daughter.
When the child grew, she brought him to Pharaoh's daughter and he became her son.
She name the child Moses because she drew him from water.
When Moses reach a certain age, he decided to visit his people and look at their burden.
On his way, he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his people.
Moses looks around and sees he beat the Egyptian and kill him to save his brother.
On the next day, on his way to the town
He said to the one that did the wrong, why did you strike your fellow and he replied, who made you a prince and a judge over us?
Do you mean to kill me as you killed the Egyptians?
Moses was afraid when he heard this from his brother.
Moses fled from Pharaoh and stayed in the land of Midian and he sat down by a well.
Reuel's daughters use to draw water and filled the troughs to water their father's flocks.
There was a Shepherd around who use to drive them away from the water but Moses stood up and help them.
When they returned home, their father as he them, how is it that you have come so soon today?
They said an Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the Shepherds and even drew water for us and water the flock.
Reuel said to his daughters to call him, that he may eat bread.
