Serving is a privilege and not a choice, it is one of the purest ways to show love to God and his people. Being a servant to God and his people counts as the work of a leader. Jesus said, "Whoever wants to be great among you must be your servant”. Selfless service means that we put aside our pride and desires to serve those around us without expecting anything in return.

The scripture reminds us that, " Jesus who was the son of God came in a way of serving his people instead of commanding in his work”. Knowing the importance of being a servant will help us to live well with others. Being a servant;

Helps us to be more like Jesus:

By living like the lord Jesus Christ, we please God and earn a reward.
Through his resurrection and our acceptance of Jesus as our savior, we can have unfettered access to our heavenly father. Christ did anything except that which glorified his father in heaven. Being more like Jesus will result in a renewed mind, a rejuvenated spirit, and a renovated heart.

Serving surrounds us with other Christians who can help us follow Jesus:

It's better to hang out with people who love God and want to lift you than bring you down. In a world where we hear many discouraging things, we need to have people who will encourage us to follow God's plan no matter what. To enjoy peace, success, and happiness in life, you must surround yourself with positive-minded believers. The scripture reminds us in Proverbs that," He who walks with wise men becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm”.
