How Did Lot Survive When Almighty God Decided To Destroy Sodom?

We thank Almighty God for giving us another day to share His word.

We have so many histories about the life of our forefathers but

I would like to share how Lot Survive when God decided to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah.

Sodom and Gomorrah were one of the big cities in the olden days.

Many people live there but they decided to accept gays and lesbians in their cities.

Lot was a brother to Abraham who gave born to Isaac.

Abraham took care of Lot when lot father died.

Lot lives well with Abraham but there was strife between the herdsmen of Abraham's cattle and the herdsmen of Lot's cattle.

Abraham said to Lot, let there be no strife between you and me,

and between your herdsmen and my herdsmen; For we are kinsmen.

Is not the whole land before you?
Separate yourself from me.

After they have separated, lot lifted his eyes and saw that

the Jordan Valley was well watered everywhere like the garden of the Lord.

Lot decided to live in the Jordan Valley.

Abraham dwelt by the oaks of Mamre located at Hebron.

After they have separated, two angels were sent to Sodom and Gomorrah,

because the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great and their sin is very grave,

I will go down to see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry which has come to me.

Lord reveals this secret to Abraham when Lord

was having a conversation with Abraham.
Abraham pleaded on behalf of the people living in that city.

The two angels came to Sodom in the evening, but Lot was sitting at the gate of Sodom.

When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them and bowed himself with his face to the earth.

They have conversations with Lot as to what the Lord

has with Abraham.

Lord pleaded for them to rest in his house and spend the night,

The angel decided not to spend the night in his house but they will spend the night in the street.

Lot urge them strongly; so they turned aside to him and enter his house.

The angel reviews what is going to happen in the city to Lot.

But before they laid down, the men of the city. Both young and old,

all the people to the last man, surround the house, and they called to lot.

They aimed to have practiced their immoral acts with the angel.

Lot went out and talk to them but it ends nothing.

They force Lot to bring them out but Lot decided

to give his two daughters to them but they denied it.

Suddenly, the people were struck with blindness, both small and great

so they wearied themselves groping for the door.

After strucking them with blindness, the angels said to Lot, have you anyone else here?

Sons-in-law, sons, daughters, or anyone you have in the city,

Bring them out of the place, for we are about to destroy this place.

Lot went out and said to his sons-in-law,

who were to marry his daughters, up and get out of this place,

For the Lord is about to destroy the city.

But he seemed to his sons-in-law to be jesting.

When morning dawned, the angels urged Lot,

to arise and take his wife and two daughters to leave the city.

But lord lingered; so the men seized him and his wife and his two daughters by the hand,

the lord being merciful to him and they brought him and set him outside the city.

When they brought them outside, they said to them,

flee for your life; do not look back or stop anywhere in the city.

The angel said to Lot to flee to the hill lest they will be consumed.

Because the place is too far, lot pleaded for them to allow him to stay in one of the villages near the city.

But Lot's wife behind him looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.

Then the lord rained on Sodom and Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven, and he overthrew those cities,

and all the valley, and all the inhabitants of the cities and what grew on the ground.

After they have fled to a different village,

Lot went up out of Zoar and dwelt in the hills with his two daughters.

The firstborn said to the younger,

Our father is old, and there is not a man on earth to come into us after the manner of all the earth.

They decided to have sex with their father so that

they may preserve offspring through their father.

They made their father drink wine
The firstborn bore a son, and they called him Moab.

The younger also bore a son, and they called him Benammi.
