Every person is guided or directed by some rules. It seems difficult to find the right path or the right direction these days. Every religion has its own guide, and we know that Jesus Christ was the person chosen to be the guide for all Christians.

But did we ever question the rules or even know the do's and don'ts of our leader? Accepting the life of faith, obedience, and change through a personal relationship with Him is what following Jesus Christ is all about.

Christians know that Jesus is the perfect role model and guide, choosing to follow His footsteps even if it involves sacrifice or difficulty. Just as there is a policy in everything, we will shed more light on how to walk or imitate the footsteps of Jesus Christ.

Believe in Him totally:

As Christians, faith in God is being a follower of Him. To have faith in Jesus Christ is to have absolute trust in Him, not just to assent intellectually that He is, but to commit your life to Him as Lord and Savior.

This is believing His doctrine, depending on His grace, and obeying obediently according to His will. It's walking on the bridge, not just believing it will hold you, but walking on it, trusting all your weight into its strength.

Study His will:

Learning God's will is one of the ways of being a disciple of Christ. God's word has been used as a map to lead all believers along the way. Learning God's will is an important part of being a true disciple of Jesus Christ.

It helps believers understand His will, His desire, and His purpose for them so they can live in obedience and be mature in faith. Through reading the Scriptures, prayer, and meditation, believers are taught how to accept God's purpose and coordinate thoughts, actions, and decisions.

This searching of His will shapes character, deepens faith, and enables disciples to serve others and preach the gospel with confidence and with love.

Pray every day:

Prayer is a way of communicating with God. As Christians, it is essential that we all converse with our creator on a daily basis. But are we doing it?

prayer is a power and essential factor to becoming a disciple of God. It's through prayer that we Christians create a personal relationship with Him and seek guidance.

Prayer calls upon the Holy Spirit to work within us, shaping our character and allowing us to mature in faith, obedience, and love. A genuine believer depends upon prayer to stay in good standing with the Father, to have power for the battles of the day, and to remain anchored in the call of following Christ completely.

Sacrificial love:

Sacrificial love is counted among the first ways of becoming a disciple of Christ. The others are loved by agreeing to place the needs, well-being, and worth of others ahead of our convenience and comfort, as Christ did when He gave His life for mankind.

This kind of love reflects the heart of God and demonstrates the power of the gospel of change in everyday life.

Live by the Holy Spirit:

Being in the Holy Spirit is essential to being a true follower of God since that is how believers are guided, empowered, and transformed.

The Holy Spirit knows God's Word, makes us conscious of sin, and guides us to truth and obedience. The Spirit also provides us with spiritual gifts to serve others and unabashedly share the good news of the gospel.

Without the Holy Spirit, it is a battle of human strength to be Christ's disciple; with Him, it is grace, growth, and purposeful living in conformity with God's will.

Worship without reserve:

Single-minded, unselfish, and wholehearted worship unto God involves dedicating unto Him pure and true devotion from the deepest core of one's heart, soul, mind, and strength.

Wholehearted worship means fervent love for God with thankfulness, respect, and obedience to His commands. Wholehearted worship involves approaching Him in sincerity, gladness, and humility to glorify Him and not for selfish purposes.

Practice Humility and Repentance:

Practicing humility and repentance is a key element of following Christ. Jesus Himself modeled humility throughout His life, from being born in a manger to washing the feet of His disciples and eventually laying down His life on the cross.

True discipleship involves putting aside pride, selfish ambition, and desire for recognition and choosing to serve and submit to God's will. Humility opens the heart to change, brings harmony in the body of Christ, and allows believers to depend only on God's grace and not on their own strengths.

Serve others:

One of the most important aspects of being a follower of Christ is serving others. Jesus did not come to be served, but to serve, and He instructs His disciples to do the same with humility and love.

When Christians serve others, whether in kindness, generosity, or assistance, they demonstrate God's compassion and extend His grace outside into the world. Service deflects attention away from self and onto others and fosters a sense of humility, compassion, and obedience.

It is through serving that the disciples are spiritually formed, become a community, and display the gospel in active and touchable forms.

Stand Firm in Faith:

Having the strength to stand in whatever situation as a believer alienates us from our friends. Discipleship requires perseverance, understanding the reality of the gospel, and holding on to Christ even when it's difficult.

Such strong faith shows spiritual maturity and a confirmed relationship with God. It makes believers resistant to temptation, resistant to trials, and continues to grow in their walk with Christ.

By standing firm, the disciples demonstrate that they are established not on emotions or convenience, but God's unerring promises.

Share the Gospel:

Sharing the gospel is one of the actions of being a disciple or follower of God. Jesus instructed His disciples to go out into the world and make disciples, and that it begins by proclaiming the good news of salvation through Him.

When believers share the gospel, they become part of God's effort to share hope, healing, and eternal life with others. It is life-based, not word-based; it is living a life that points others to Christ in compassion, integrity, and faith.

Sharing the gospel emboldens disciples to be braver, better understand God's grace, and help build His kingdom on earth.

Dear, as we build our relationship with the Lord, let us keep digging for more updates. Don't forget to forward to family and friends. God bless us all.
