The disciples of Christ were many but Peter and John played the most part when Jesus ascended to heaven. After Jesus ascended to heaven, the disciples live their life together and they devoted themselves to the apostle's teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And fear came upon every soul and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.

And all who believed were together and had all things in common, and they sold their possession and goods and distributed them to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they partook of food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.

Peter and John went to the temple at the ninth hour and a man lame from birth were being carried and laid daily at the gate of the temple. The man use to seek help from the people who passed by the temple. The man asks for help. Peter and John gazed at him and said look at us. The man suddenly fixed his attention on them, expecting to receive something from them.

But Peter said, we have no silver and gold, but we give you what we have, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk. They took him and raised him up and immediately his feet and ankles were made strong. The man started praising God and all the people saw him walking and praising God and recognizing him as the one who sat for alms at the beautiful gate of the temple and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

The people started to run closer to Peter and John. And when Peter saw them, he addressed the people, men of Israel, why do you wonder at this, or why do you stare at us, as though by our power or piety we had made him walk?

This wonder is by the powers of the God of Abraham and of Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers glorified his servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate when he had decided to release him. But you denied the holy and the righteous one and asked for a murder to be granted to you and killed the author of life, whom God raised from the dead.

To this, we are witnessing. And his name, by faith in his name, has made this man strong whom you see and know, and the faith which is through Jesus has given the man this perfect health in the presence of you all.

Brethren, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did also your rulers. And as they were speaking to the people, the priest, captain, and the Sadducees came upon them, annoyed because they were teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection from the dead.

They arrested them and put them in custody until the next day, for it was already evening. But many of those who heard the word believe, and the number of men increases. On the next day, the elders and scribes were gathered with Annas the high priest, Caiaphas, John, Alexander, and all who were of the high priest family. And when they set John and Peter in the midst, they inquired, by what power or by what name did you do this?

Peter who was filled with the holy spirit said to them, Rulers of the people and the elders if we are being examined today concerning a good deed done to a cripple, by what means this man been healed, be it known to you all, and all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by him, this man is standing before you well.

This is the stone which was rejected by you builders, but which has become the head of the corner. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.

When the people saw the boldness of Peter and John and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they wondered and recognized that they had been with Jesus. But seeing the man that had been healed standing beside them, they had nothing to say in opposition.

But when they had commanded them to go outside of the council, they conferred with one another, saying, what shall we do with these men?
For that, a notable sign has been performed through them is manifest to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it. But so that it may spread no further among anyone in this name.

They called them and charged them not to speak or teach at all in the
name of Jesus. But Peter and John answer them, whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, you must judge, for we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard.

When they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way to punish them, because of the people, for all men praised God for what had happened.
Beloved in Christ, how are we going to apply this in our life?

Are we imitating the disciples or the Sadducees who bind the name of Jesus Christ?
As the kingdom of Christ is at hand, let all do well to imitate christ to inherit the kingdom of christ.
Let all do well to share our ideas in the comment section, to possess the kingdom with the world of Christ.

May the good lord help us to understand his word as we have decided to follow him.
Thanks for having time for this article.
