The holy spirit was descended when Jesus ascended to heaven as it was written that, nevertheless I tell you the truth it is to your advantage that I go away, for I do not go away, the counselor will not come to you, but if I go, I will send him to you. When the spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you. All that the father has is mine, therefore I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you”.

Transform our lives:

Transforming lives is one of the works of the holy spirit. The Holy Spirit corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. As we build a closer relationship with the holy spirit, he will also pull us away from things we have in our lives that don't please him. We grow and learn new things every time something changes. As our lives transform, we discover new insights about different aspects of our lives. We learn lessons even from changes that did not lead us to where we wanted to be.

The Holy Spirit guides us to the truth:

Jesus Christ said I am the way, the truth, and the life no one goes to the Father except through me. The holy spirit is responsible for guiding us to know the truth of life. Obeying the truth frees us, as the scripture says, we will know the truth, and the truth will set us free. Knowing the truth is essential to our salvation.

The holy spirit empowers us to proclaim Christ:

Besides benefitting believers, it is also good for unbelievers to hear the word proclaimed. God uses His works to convict and change hearts, and it is through his word that we come to know him. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the truth, and it is essential to spread it to those who may not know it. By sharing the gospel, we are helping others find the truth that can free them.

The holy spirit gives us spiritual gifts:

Spiritual gifts are gifts of the holy spirit graciously given by the triune God to equip and empower believers so that they, even with their weaknesses, can effectively participate in the building up of the body of Christ. The gifts of the spirit manifest the power and influence of the holy spirit in a Christian.
