In the Bible, God speaks through dreams, visions, pictures, the scriptures, and prophets. Waiting and hearing from God helps us avoid costly mistakes. The voice of the lord brings instruction and construction, and the lack of God's voice can bring destruction. Knowing God's voice has a lot of benefits in our lives and we shall discuss some of the ways to hear His voice.

Position ourselves close to God:

God wants us to operate in a spirit of humility, which is a spirit He can bless. That means we do not exalt ourselves over others and we don't put them down.

Find a place of regular service to God:

To serve God means to do His will and it includes doing what He commands us to do. We can be uplifted by fellow believers and by the opportunity to serve and worship. By doing so, we can feel the Holy Spirit who brings " love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness and faith”.

Listen for God's voice:

We should ask God to speak to us through his word. We must pray before we read the Bible. We must ask the Holy Spirit for guidance to understand and apply in our life the Word of God.

Read and study the words of God:

God speaks through the Bible. That is why it is often called the word of God. The God described in the Bible is and always has been the same God that followers of Jesus worship today.
