Christ says we are to let our lights shine. God is the light that shines within and through his church as the light of the world. God's word is a lamp, a light that illuminates the darkness. If a person walks through the woods at night, he is well served to have a flashlight with him to shine it on the ground in front of him so that his shins do not encounter a fallen log. Being the light means doing our best to live each day on purpose and in a way that's pleasing to God. And for us to have our day on purpose;

We have to start and end our day reading the word of God:

Reading the word of every day is a way of living our life on purpose. Reading the Bible on a regular and consistently has several benefits. Jesus compares his followers to light, saying "We are the light of the world” unable to be hidden. Reading the Bible will let us live with a genuine Christ-like attitude, by supporting missionaries, and treating the world around us as our mission field, we will be the light Jesus has called us to be. Reading the Bible will wake us and strengthen our faith, give us hope, and head us to freedom.

Memorize God's promises:

Memorizing God's word will help remind us of God's will and promises. God wants us to bear something about his character. God is faithful, true, loving, patient and so much more. He gives promise to us so that we will see his nature and learn deeper truths about his life character and personal care for us. Some of God's promises are to provide us with assurance, strength, and encouragement to guide us through our everyday lives. Through God's promises, we know both who God is and what He told us he will do for us. God sustains and strengthens us in every situation by his promises. Memorizing God's promises, will strengthen us, work everything out for our good, to be with us, and also take care of our needs.

Draw near to God:

When we draw near to God, the promises of God can become real in our lives. When the Savior invites us to be drawn near to him, it is similar to when he says Follow me. He is inviting us to follow his examples and develop a deep personal relationship with him. Drawing near to God will help us be better able to keep our priorities in line. We will receive enlightenment, wisdom, and strength. And we will also be filled with a sense of peace and contentment. Being closer to God will guide us into all truth, show us things to come, make us perfectly strong, and give us everything we need.

Love our neighbors:

Loving a neighbor as oneself is an affinity for kindness, patience, and gentleness about the neighbor. Loving our neighbors means serving them. In response to the lawyer's second question and his attempt to redefine who qualifies as his neighbor Jesus tells the parable of the good Samaritan. Jesus makes it clear in this parable that our neighbor is anyone around us, regardless of their ethnicity and religion. As it was clear that loving our neighbors as ourselves is the great first commandment, it is the need for us to follow in others to be the light of the world.

Beloved, please keep on sharing and invite others for more updates.

Thanks for your special day with us.
