Difficult times can leave us feeling exposed and unprotected. God offers us security that is not dependent on our situations. As it is written, " the name of the lord is a strong fortress, the godly run to him and are safe”. Dark times teaches a lot in life and we would use this opportunity to discuss why does God allow dark times;

To bring us divine instructions:

The instructions of God tells us what to do and what not to do to help us not go the wrong way. As it is written," He needs instructions is on the path to life, but he who rejects reproof goes astray”.

To increase our faith:

God allow darkness to increase our faith. God is bigger than any of our circumstances. He will sustain us and grow our faith in the waiting. God is never neglecting our life. If he seems to be silent, remember his promise that He is always hearing our prayers and responding.

To help us help others:

God can use dark and stressful times like these for good. He can use our current troubles to teach us to trust him, to show is how to help others, and to draw us closer to other believers.

To bring about his own sovereign purposes:

The Lord is not absent during our times of troubles. His purpose is steadfast. The story of Joseph illustrates how Gods sovereign hand guides his children when they go through a season of darkness.
