The Reason to Pray as A Believer
Prayer is a profound and personal expression of communication with a higher power and divine being. Almighty God is spirit, and as Christians or believers, the only way we can communicate with the heavenly father is through prayer. As the scripture reminds us in Mathew 6:9-13. Prayer is a way of communicating with God as we would with a friend. Some people also explain prayer, as an integral part of Christian living. It is the need for every individual to pray as the scripture says, “rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you”.
Being prayerful serves us a lot of benefit in our daily and as such, some of the reasons for creation of God to pray, would be share in this article.
- As believers, prayers help us to enter into the presence of God.
Prayer is when we ask for his kingdom to come and his will to be done. It is the time we invite God into our lives. When we do that, we are stepping into his life as those who live in his kingdom and may be used to bring his will. Stepping into the presence of God will bring joy, peace and happiness in our life. The atmosphere of depression and, discouragement, disillusionment, and discontentment are not possible in the presence of God. Although there will be up and down in our daily activities, but he will be with us in those times, rescuing, protecting or delivering us.
- As followers of God, prayer help us to unlock the power of his spirit in us.
God power is available to us through prayer. He is ready to guide, uplift and strengthen us every step of the way. And as we continue in developing our prayer life, we will be open to the holy spirit leading. The power that the holy spirit gives us is something that reflects in the natural as well as the supernatural. The power of the spirit of God in us allow us to walk in newness of life each day.
- As believers, prayers provide healing and direction.
God has already provided his healing power and placed it on the inside of every born-again believer. Our own experience, gleaned by praying with thousands of individuals is that some physical improvements happen for most people we pray with, and a significant minority are totally healed. Ultimately, it is up to us to follow God’s guidance and put it into practice in our daily lives. As the scripture reminds us, “divine direction brings forth supernatural confidence. When we are guided by God, we can move forward boldly, assured of His leading. Divine direction removes doubt and indecision, empowering us to make decisions with unwavering conviction”.
- Prayers help us to hear from God:
The lord hears all our prayers, including the silent ones. Hearing Gods voice provides many benefits. God reveals his plans, purposes, and even our destiny to us. When we listen and obey, we discover that life is full of promise and purpose, and we become more confident in God’s plan for our lives. We can hear from God through many ways. - Prayers put off temptations.
We pray that he will continue to preserve us so we don’t face temptations as he faced it and that we would be delivered from that evil one to live for Christ. Prayers brings wisdom into the situation. As the scripture says, “no temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
- Prayers brings about miracles.
A miracle is an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs. Our powerful, persistent and humble prayers can work miracles. The miracle that always happen in prayer happens in the most important place: the heart. There are some of the miracles in our daily life that we tend to forget. The sun rises and sets each day, small seeds grow into mighty trees, and the many components of our body work together, enabling us to breathe, run, dream, and eat.
- Prayers get closer to God.
Prayers help us to grow in our relationship with God. The more time we spend talking to him, the closer we will become. Just like our parent here on earth, our heavenly father wants to hear from us and talk to us. When we pray, he listens. Taking the time every day to talk to God, seeking his guidance, and wisdom can help us navigate life’s ups and downs with grace and purpose. When we decide to be near to him, we will, in fact, receive guidance for our life.

In our real life, hope has been linked to many other positive outcomes, including higher levels of psychological well-being, life satisfaction, happiness, and meaning in life. Hope also to help us to stay calm and peaceful when something less than desirable emerges. And also, hopeful individuals are more likely to frame difficulties as challenges, rather than threats.
