Drawing closer to God means coming closer to Him. As believers, Jesus is inviting us to follow his example and develop a deep, personal relationship with him.
An intimate relationship with God is foundational for every Christian. And also, we will never know the majesty, love, discipline, fellowship, and wisdom of the person of God if we do not spend time with him.
Knowing God shares a lot of benefits in our lives, and I would share some of the ways to get closer to Him in this article.
Read and study the bible
Reading the bible is how we learn who God is. When we study the bible, we tend to get so caught up in family lines and historical facts that we lose the intimate message of the Bible.
The bible contains everything about life and all the things that give our life meaning. Reading the Bible is vital for our relationship with God, to understand and worship Him.
As we read the scripture, we will find the spirit transforming our hearts in ways we may not even be able to imagine. We will find ourselves changed and made aware of what God calls us to as His followers.
Spend time in prayer
Prayer also helps us to grow in our relationship with God. Prayer allows us to recognize that each present moment is a revelation of God, who is always reaching out to us in an utterly personal way, leading us to deeper freedom.
As the scripture says, “call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known”.
Attend a good church
The church is one of the congregations that binds all believers together. The scripture does not command Christians to attend church; it does speak powerfully about the blessing of the church community.
As the scripture says, “Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the lord.
And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven”.
Be generous
Generosity teaches us to trust God. The bible reminds us that life on earth is uncertain, and nothing is guaranteed, but when we put our hope in God’s provision, we can rest assured that he will provide for our needs.
Being generous challenges us to trust in God’s provision and to rely on him rather than our possessions.
Being able to read this article to the end will bring us closer to God. let’s keep on visiting and share this article with others for more updates.
