The word of God, similarly, has a purifying effect upon our lives, eliminating from them what is un-Christian. Not only shows us our faults, but it also makes us holy.

No man can ever hope to be holy without spending time every day at the Lord's feet, for that alone can purge away all the dross from his life.

If we obey God's commands, we will stay safe on the right path. The Bible is like fire in so many ways when it is allowed to work inside our hearts.

The word of God works in so many ways, but we would use this opportunity to discuss a few of them.

Purifies our consciousness

God cleanses our conscious from acts that lead to death. The defilement and guilt in our conscience can only be washed away by the blood of Jesus.

The more one prays before God, the more he realizes the necessity of the blood.

Renew our minds

He is in the business of changing our inner character and life into the likeness of Christ. He does it through renewing our minds, changing our way of thinking.

He makes us think the way he thinks through the word of God.

Illuminates our spirit

To illuminate means to have something brightened with light and made clear to the eyes. Spiritual illumination is a state of consciousness resulting from the holy spirit baptism.

It offers some of the best evidence for our understanding of Christian artistic interpretations of the Bible.

Drive away darkness

According to Peter, God has "called us out of darkness into his marvelous light”. It is this marvelous light that we see in the face of Jesus Christ. He is the living light that shines over us and ahead of us.
