Happiness has been shown to predict positive outcomes in many different areas of life including mental wellbeing, and physical health. Happiness not only makes us better people but affect the lives of everyone around us. Experiencing happiness is important for our emotional and physical health.
A stronger sense of happiness and wellbeing has been shown to lead to better relationships, increase social connections and contributions to the lives of others, as well as contributing to healthier physical well-being. In our Christianity, the ancient prophetic visions of restored humanity, living in right relationship with God, other human beings, and all of creation is what we called happiness.
But, for us to live a happy life, we ought to read and follow these points in order to live a successful life;
Trust in God:
Jesus knows us and our sorrows perfectly. He lived and died for us so that we can have the hope of also overcoming the world and returning to lived with him again. Trusting God will help us wait on him when he delays or is silent regarding our prayers or the fulfillment of his promise. If he delays, it is for a good reason. His action are founded on His wisdom and loved. But for us to trust in him, we ought to spend time in prayer, acknowledging who He is, and with that, the crown will be giving to us.
Focus on Jesus Christ:
Jesus Christ must remain our focus. When Jesus remains pur focus, several things happen. Firstly, when Jesus remains our focus, our heart is filled with perfect peace and also we will experience true unity with fellow believers. When the focus of our lives is on God's plan of salvation, and Jesus Christ and His Gospel, we can feel joy regardless of what is happening or not happening in our life. Jesus is the source of all joy. And as Christians, we have His salvation, and we are formed to give Christ the Glory. We are made to praise Him out of our gratitude and for his holiness.
Be thankful:
Gratefulness is a tool to appreciate what we have instead of desiring new things. It makes us feel happier about the positive aspects of our life. The key to beginning to live a happier is to get into a mindset of happiness.The best way to start shifting our mindset is by being thankful. Thankfulness is the beginning of happiness. As it is written, " rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for us". Gratitude helps people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships.
Choose optimism;
Happy people tend to be more optimistic, and optimistic people tend to be happier. One of the key ideas of increasing happiness in our lives is to increase or boost our optimism. Researchers have spent a lot of times studying people who think positively. It turns out that an optimistic attitude helps us be happier, more successful, and healthier. Optimism is a key part of resilience, the inner strength that helps us get through tough times. Optimism helps us see, feel, and think positively.
Look outside ourselves:
We need to focus outside of ourselves, we need to see the big picture, notice the beauty in the world, and find a purpose in life. Through helping others we help ourselves and I believe every one of us has something to offer that can help another.
